Hi,
This may have already been asked and answered, but I haven't been able to find it.
Has anyone had the cord to their ER-6's shortened? It is long enough that it gets tangled a little too often. Will Etymotic Research shorten it for a fee, or is there a reasonably way to do it oneself?
Thanks,

don wilson of etymotic did it for doobooloo (sic?) i think. might want to PM him about it or call them up. i just use twist ties or those cloth covered rubber bands people with long hair use. you probably could do it yourself if you had some skills. too much trouble for me to justify the work though.

Yeah, I have been using a twist tie, but would be willing to pay a little to clean it up some. I'm not sure I could live without them long enough to send 'em in though.

detailed steps (i take no responsibility for any one who follows this advice):

cut ety cable 5 inches below green/gray resistor box (i don't know/care what the ER4B resistor box's color is)

cut remaining cable 2 inches from the mini plug

strip outer plastic cover of ety cable about 1/2 inch on each end

strip each individual wire

twist each individual wires on one end with its matching wire on the other end (if you don't know how to find the matching wires... guess and hope that you were right)

cover with black electrical tape

enjoy (or blow up, depending on how horribly you matched the wires)
