I use those Sony earbud phones that seal the ear. They fit ok. Bass is ok, but the mids and highs are just horrible.

I tried the Koss Plug once, and could not get a seal....my ear canals are too bit.

I need the phones for strickly gym environment. I tried over the head kind of cheap Koss ones, and they were ok, but they would get major stinky and I had to constantly clean them with Lysol until they just fell apart.

I suppose I could bite the bullet and get Etys. Of course there is the question of sound quality of the various models. That has been talked about alot.

But... how about FITTING in big ear canals???? I would want to really use the standard silicone fittings.

Can they fit fatheads?????

Main source: RIO 800 mp3 player, and various Minidisc players.
Music: Pounding music for cardio, spoken word (audiobooks), and classical and jazz.

I can't exercise cardio without music. I get bored, and just go home. Yeah. Not all of us have willpower. My physical condition is getting down now without the needed exercise.

Any suggestions???? Oh yeah. I sweat like a pig. Then again, I look like one too.

Etymotic sells three sizes of foam filters.

One of them should fit you. I would be surprised if the silcone tips didnt work for you size wise.

I think some cheap philips clip earbuds do the job for cheap. Why would you want to drown any more expensive pairs with sweat. You can also try the Aiwa's that attempt to isolate if isolation is that important to you. I saw some sweat proof Nike/Philips gear but dunno how they would sound.

But I do have empathy for the desire to block out the default "gym music", but I just use it for negative reinforcement. Course that probably works more for my fast twitch work out than long hours of cardio inside a gym. Maybe one goal for working out is to be able to look imposing enough to tell the gym lackeys what music they should be dialing into.
