this is a pretty simple mod. remove the silicon tips, and place a 1/2 centimeter cube of dense foam in the tips where they attach to the er6. there should be a tiny space in there for the foam.
the foam should only fill 1/2 of the space inside the tips. it should be small enough where it is not squished in.
the kind of foam i used was cut from a small sheet of open cell packing foam that came with a computer card.
put the tips back on and you're done!
what i'm hearing with this mod is more visceral bass, less mid-treble spike and less grain. bass lovers will dig this mod.
i tried other configurations, including a sheet of foam clamped over the ety filters, running a line of foam up the shaft of the silicone tips, and cramming more foam into the above mod. none of them worked nearly as well as the final mod. it just clicks.
a small bit of foam earpad folded over may also work. give it a try.
