Hi all,

Just looking for some thoughts on in In-Ear phones for traveling.

I'm planning a trip to Thailand, so space is a major consideration. This means I have to leave my HD650's behind. (I've got a friend at the other end that has a set if I need a fix) So I've been looking at In ear phones. I don't want to spend big $$$ because I've already got the 650's, so I started looking at the Etymotic ER-6's but found they've now got the lower imp Etymotic ER-6i's. I've got a iPod 60G Colour and a Total BitHead.

Should I get the Etymotic ER-6 and take the TBH with me or leave it behind and just use the Etymotic ER-6i and the iPod?

thanks in advance for any insight

Allan

i would take the bithead regardless of which phone you go for.
me personally, i would lineout to the bithead> er6i, as it has a little more bass.
the er6 is more neautral,

If you can use the line-out, then get an amp, that will make a HUGE difference whether you get the 6 or 6i.

My preference is for the 6i for travelling. It's got a little more punch in the lower end and mids, and that's very welcome when you are in planes/trains/buses what little bass the 6 has will be drowned out by the engine noise seeping in. And you have the option of going unamped and still get a fun sound whereas the 6 can become a bit grating (and this is from a guy who likes bright sounding headphones)
