Great, just got an amp and my ER-4P's sound is nicely filled out, but now I notice a distinct rattle/fizz in the left driver on John Lennon's "Isolation". I know this isn't a recording 'detail' by using reverse stereo in Foobar.

So how long should I expect to be Etyless if I ship them out for service?

It might also be that you have the user EQ turned on on your portable player. Sometimes if bass boost is turned on you'll hear distortion on the bass peaks.

Cheers,

Turnaround time for me was about a week, including shipping. They actually serviced my ER-4P's a day after receiving them and immediately sent them back. If you have any doubt about what is causing the problem you're having, give their customer service a ring or shoot them an e-mail. Everyone I dealt with there has been very responsive and helpful.

bobeau --

I sent my Etymotics out for a routine check up after a year of ownership.
The box was physically in my hands a week later -- what a turnaround!
Etymotic is experienced with bending over backwards for their customers.
If your turnaround is longer than a week, I will be suprised to say the least.

Good luck,

even though i had problems with my ER6i's, Etymotic's dedication to excellent service has made me a customer for life. Bangpod, did the checkup you had done on your ER-4's cost anything, or was it included in the warranty?

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback guys.

I changed the filter on the left driver and it makes no difference. I wonder if it looks suspicious I did the online registration last night.

they have a built in year warranty whether you register them or not, so i don't see how it would be "suspcious".

VicAjax, EdipisReks --

Yes, they completely received a clean bill of health...
New filters, new tips, alcohol cleaning AND soundtested!

Etymotic did not tweak them, but returned them to factory condition.
The only cost to me was shipping/insurance one way... Great service!
$10 to get them my earphones and now they feel perfectly new!

They told me that it was included in the warrantee...

Etymotic is a company that will always have my business!

Oh... how does that work, though - how do they know when the year begins without registering a purchase date?
