Anybody tried using Ety foam tips on Shures? If so which among three Ety sizes (ER-14A/C/F) is closer to Shure stock foamies? How do they compare in sound and fit?

I ask cause today I had a revelation after first time trying yellow foamies on my E4c. They sound much better and more comfortable than my previous favorites Ety tri-flanges. But I have only a pair of stock foamies and Ety ones seem cheaper.

If the Shure E4 shaft is the same size as the E3, then the ETY foam tips (14FB is what the bag says)) will fit, as they are exactly the same size as the Shure yellow foamies that came with the E3. Hope this helps.

Apparently all E2/3/4/5c have same shafts since Shure lists same tri-flanges (and in fact other tips) for all of them.

Btw, in your experience guys how long a pair of foamies lasts? What ruins them most - number of insertions, hours squeezed inside ears or simply ear dirt?

I think its mostly in-ear time. After a while, the foam lose some of their resiliancy. If you take care of them perfectly, they should last at least 3 months. Also, if you wash them in an alcohal bath, do NOT squeeze the foams while they are immerged. This causes the foam to saturate and lose resiliancy after drying.

no no, the e2 is larger and has different tips. the e3/4/5 are the same, though.

As I should have said before, washing them causes some loss in resiliancy (especially if the foamies are saturated with liquid). Therefore, try to keep them clean so that you don't have to wash them often.
