The average college student listens to their music with a logarithmic EQ curve. Bass frequencies max, the rest flat. When they listen to anything that's near neutral they always seem displeased that the bass isn't there. Even when I gave a few a listen to my 7506's, which byfar are no means bass shy, they thought they were bright EVEN if I EQ'ed the treble down. It's no wonder so many people are surprised by "accurate" sound these days.
