Audio-Technica ESW9 Portable Wooden Headphones - NEW! on eBay (end time 24-Oct-09 06:42:03 BST)

Currently looking at buying these, price is reasonable but a new seller. Is it safe to buy or not?

Don't know, but they are cheap and the seller's feedback is limited (and only refers to cheap stuff, not to expensive headphones). If it sounds too good to be true it is either not true or a Beyerdynamic with 600 ohms resistance from the 80s

.

he is registered in Hong Kong as well, same name, same feedbacks, not sure, but looks a little strange to me, I would stay away.

Fake ESW9's *for sure* exist - I have seen and heard a pair. The cups on the fakes look like wood from a distance, but up close are clearly plastic, and the pads and headband are pleather. They don't sound great either. But impossible to tell from that ad.

Where are you living now? If in the States, Beach Camera has cheaper deal and much safer to buy than this one.

I am currently in UK, and no dealers seems to have it stocked except ESW10 (too expensive to carry around). I want the ESW9 but only way seems to be eBay.

TBH, amazon.jp have it on £130, so this price is reasonable.

I've bought and returned a fake pair. They did have wooden cups but were of poor workmanship.

Don't see any for sale here to UK. PriceJapan got reasonable price though. At £190 shipping is OK, but like to pay around £150.

You can buy it here. : eBay Österreich Shops: J-pop Store, Seiko Wired Alba, Casio G shock Baby G, Sony MP3 Walkman.
I bought it from there and they were genuine. I am very satisfied.

Really good headphones, especially combined with a cowon d2+.
