i'm considering using a pink noise file that i'm downloading but i'm a little afraid i might bust something in the headphones.

do i just play the file through winamp and turn the volume all the way up on winamp and then a little less than half way up on my laptop?

or is just listening to music and let it naturally break in over the next few months the best/safest way to go about it?

i'd love to know all of your opinions and if pink noise is the way then explain how to work it right a little bit for me

I prefer the second way, but if you don't have the patience for it, the first one is somewhat right. You make the volume a bit higher than your regular listening level to be safe.

The best way to burn-in headphones is to use them. Pink noise for 48 hours never hurt though (unless you turn up the volume and destroy the drivers...). In my opinion anyways.
