ER4Ps died - now what?

Well, one of the modules on my ER4Ps died the other day. I know it's the module because I unplugged both and swapped them on the same cable. The same module is still _very_ faint (yes, I tried new filters and earpieces).

Anyway, should I get a replacement module or should I consider another IEM? I'd prefer something with the same level of detail but with better (more impactful) bass. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, how did Etymotic handle the RMA?

Thanks!

If they're under warranty contact Ety, they'll replace it with little hassle.

I had a driver replaced which in fact turned out to not be faulty (my amp was the issue). They tested and found it to be fine but replaced it anyway. Very cool.

Yeah I heard they have awesome customer service. You should have no problem getting it replaced.

Now, to answer your question

I think you will be looking at UE 10 pro. There is no universal IEM has the same level of detail as ER4P but with better bass. Shure e4c is the closest, but not at the same level. It does has stronger impactful bass, but everything is a bit muddier, and the highs is not as good as ER4P.

if you want more detail then the er4ps and more bass the next step up for that is the UE-10s. Quite pricey but worth it weight in gold. I like there sound better then the HD650s. There is more detail. Anyways something to think about.

LOL, I was going to suggest the Shure E4, but the UE-10 would be really sweet... You know you want it!!!

No way. Team Etymotic would ban me for life. It has to look legitimate.

LOL, I've been waiting for mine to break for a couple years so I could upgrade to the UE-10's. No luck so far!
