Now i have seen conflicting advice about these -

I have a gen2 ipod 15gb and a pair of Ety ER4P's (which like everyone else seem to "grow" on me with each listen!) however i tend to have the ipod nearly flat out all the time.

I appreciate the sensetivity is similar to the stock apple earbuds, however some people are saying it is not loud enough - others too loud.

I do not want to be buying the headroom amp if i am only going to deafen myself further.........i have got out of car audio competitions for that very reason!

ummm.... yeah. i hope your hearing is doing ok. hopefully with the amp and a better quality signal you won't have to max your iPod to enjoy your music. hopefully that's something along the lines of what you were looking for.

A nice thing about an amp is that it won't distort as soon as the ipod one will. So you won't have to turn it up to hear the details over the clipping, which only makes the clipping worse and damages your ears.
