I've owned mine for about a year and I don't think they need to be changed yet. The tool looks like they ruin old ones, so I don't want to try.

How often do you find that the filters need to be changed?

Thanks,

I've had mine for about a year too wearing about every 2-3 days with foam. Haven't had the need to change them yet. They still look new.

I change'em when I notice the sound being muffled... usually over a year, but not more than 2...

i've had mine for probably three years, wearing them on average 5 days/mo. still on original filters

With my last pair I changed the filters once in 3 years before selling them. My current pair were bought second hand so I have no idea about how long the filter has been used. And yes the changing tool completely destroys the old filter

I change filters promptly when the sound no longer seems 'right' to me. When I used flange or Comply tips, I would typically change filters roughly every three to four months. Now that I'm using customs, I've changed one pair of filters on my two pairs of ER-4's in six months.

I'm impressed that the folks above can go so long without changing filters. I don't believe I have extraordinarily waxy ears, but I would find the sonic changes intolerable long before a year's time. Three years is inconceivable to me.

I use my Etys daily and have had them for about a year. I do take off the tips and clean them regularly, so maybe that makes a difference.
