Hello all ya head-fiers! Just wanted to ask a question. I want something more detailed then the E2c, however, i dont want the "sterile" sound of the ER-4, i just want something more fun yet more detailed then the E2c....( not to mention around the same price too

) So finally, would the ER-6 be the solution?

Simple answer, no. Your E2C's will always be alot funner than the ER-6's.

Nope. ER·6 does not sound fun at all. it sounds as sterile as the ER·4, i would say. I ordered the SR60 in search for more fun.

Hm...so can one actually say that the ER-6 is *gasp* boring??? (it should be brighter then the E2 right? )

The ER6 sounds very similar to the ER4. The ER6 is actually harder to drive from your iPod than the ER4P and the bass may be well recessed in comparison to the ER4. As far as detail, it has very good detail, but not as good as the ER4. If you dislike the ER4, it is likely you will dislike the ER6. The ER^ is defenitely not warm. The warmest of the cheap earphones is the E2.

Sounds like you might like the E3's, although I take issue with the Etymotics being either boring or sterile. I don't know where anyone gets the idea the SR60's are in the same league as the Ety's either.

Have you thought about the idea of getting an amp?

I think the SR-60 is leaps and bounds better than both the E2C and the ER-6 and I had all of them at the same point of time to check out...

Absolutely no comparison. The SR-60 is the most well rounded cheap headphone you can buy. Excellent detail and fantastic bass with the grado flat pads...

I would agree with the E2 assessment, just not the ER6. And the SR60's are ok cans for the money, but nothing special. They aren't even any better than the PX 100's IMO for half again as much money, and you can't walk around with them.

I have to agree with rt297. The Shure E3 is small, comfortable, and a wonderful warm-sounding set of earphones. Good detail, more than adequate bass with no buzz. Incredible fun to listen to and they absolutely don't/can't fall out if inserted properly. Terrific for portable use!

I gotta agree, the sr60's are nowhere near the er6 in quality. I do think the d66 Eggo plays in the er6's ballpark though, but it's not a real neutrality though. To my ears the d66 was sort-of an open er6, but hey, that's just me.

Now the ms-1 might compare to the E2, but I have no idea since I've never heard the e2. But if I were in search of more fun after the er6's, I'd go to the ms-1 over the sr60.

The er6 can offer its moments of sonic bliss, but it won't make you shake your booty.
