Ok,

I have the ER-6's, and I really like them so far. I use them exclusively with my Ipod. I am still well within my 30 day return, now I am wondering about the 4-p's.

My debate is, for mainly portable listening, should I just get a super-mini to complete the set, or send the ER-6's back and just get the 4-p's (which I hear are easier to drive).

I can always get an amp down the road if I get the 4p's, but I want to get some qualified thoughts from those who upgraded from the er-6's.

Other phones I have include the SR-60's, and MDR-D66sl's, which may also benefit from the amp.

HI: You have the eggo D66. The super mini amp only V4 will put bass and fullness in the eggos like you wont believe.
PS
The amp does need some burn in

I'd say be done with it, and get the 4ps. They will grow with you. You can one day get the adapter cable, and make them 4s. Then, you can start building a home system. . .

I don't know about the 4p but I have the 4s as well as the 6p. I also have a mini v3 and have listened to both of them through that amp. I believe for the money you can't really go wrong keeping the 6p's and getting the amp -- they really shine with a little bit of extra help. BTW -- I also use the 6ps with an IPOD.

Overall, I like the 4s a little better than the 6p but the 6ps are not bad but you really do need an amp to make them shine. If you don't get the mini a Meta 42 works wonders as well.

O.K.

So I ordered a super-mini 4.0 with an analog pot.

Thank you all for the advice.

I figure I can always get the 4p's for home listening down the road.
