Hi gang, I've been reading for a couple months now how good the Ety's are and I am planning on buying a pair from HeadRoom. I'd like to get some feedback though from some of the great members here on this board. I am also planning on getting an Airhead amp to go along with it. Should I get the ER-4P or ER-4S. I do enjoy good strong bass. My musical taste is more Rock and Metal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are GOING to get an amp already with it, or know 100% that you will always use them with an amp, go with the 4S. It is better sounding by quite a bit than the 4P. On the other hand, regardless of whether or not you'll get an amp, it might be a smarter idea to get the 4P, and then get the adaptor that'll turn it into a 4S...so that you get two for the price of one, and won't have to go through this headache of deciding.

What are the differences, then (if any), between 4S's and properly-adapted 4P's (where they are "virtual" 4S's)?

Does a properly-amped 4S *still* have less bass presence than a properly fed 4P? If so, substantially less? If not, what is the minimum amp quality to get that "proper" sound of of a 4S?
