Now that the Xin SuperDual isn't being made anymore, I'm curious what others are using for an amp with ther Ipod and ER-4P/S setup.
These are the specs I'm seeking:
1) An amp that will work in a line-out setup from the Ipod dock connector. (shouldn't be problem)
2) An amp ideally that can convert 4P to 4s via a switch (rather than adding another cable or adapter)
Here's options from the "setup" I have seen so far, feel free to comment or direct me:
OPTIONS FOR IPOD TO LINE-OUT:
1) Use Sik din cable (with firewire cable cut off or not)
2) Use SendStation Pocketdock (pros: line out, no cables. cons: won't fit in dock opening on my Matias Ipod Armour Case)
OPTIONS FOR MINI TO MINI CABLE FROM LINE OUT TO AMP:
Will a basic Radio Shack mini to mini cable do? Specs to look for? Need gold plated? Anyone uses Xin's little mini-to-mini converter? http://www.fixup.net/products/whitemini.htm
OPTIONS FOR PORTABLE AMP
I'm open to brand suggestions. Ideally, the Amp would have a switch to convert 4P to 4S so I can avoid another cable/adapter. The Xin SuperDual sounded promising, but it seems it is no longer made. Xin's SuperMicro seems to no longer be made with the switch inside. Sounds like Xin is making a "SuperMono" that will have the switch, but will be pricey at $199.
OPTIONS FOR 4P > 4S CONVERTER
Assuming the Amp I buy doesn't have a 4p/4S, any converter suggestions beyond Ety's cable? The smaller the better. What about Xin's little adapter, anyone use this, about the size of a quarter? http://www.fixup.net/tips/ety/ety.htm
Then my Ety's would plug in and that would be it. So if any answers, bring them on.
Thanks in advance. You guys rule.
