Hi Guys,

I've had my eye on the AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone. So I'm just trying to work out the best way to hook this up to my PC to do some voice recording. I've done a little bit of research of what I might need, so I've already got a Behringer PS400 Micropower Phantom Power Supply.

My PC has the basic 3.5mm red 'mic in' and blue 'analog in' on the back and another 3.5mm mic in on the front.

So in my head, I'm thinking condenser mic to phantom supply (xlr-xlr) then phantom supply to one of the 3.5mm inputs using a xlr to 3.5mm cable? I've read things about pre-amps - will I need one, or will the pre-amp just be serving the same purpose as the phantom supply?

Am I heading in the right direction for my setup? Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)
