Based on the graphs found on the web I tried to EQ my ms-1i to sound at least close to what k601/k612 should sound like. Basically I was wondering how much difference could there be.
I used Electri-q equalizer.
Points:
1. Peak at 20 Hz + 3.7 dB BW 1.3
2. peak at 100 Hz -2.6 dB BW 1.5
3. peak at 1659 Hz +2.6 dB BW 0.4
4. Peak at 4800 Hz +6.4 dB BW 0.6
5. Highshelf at 5080 Hz -5.2 dB BW 1.4
6. Highshelf at 9300 Hz +1.3 dB BW 0.6
7. Gain -4.4 dB to avoid digital clipping.
Don't know why both 5 and 6 are highshelf filters as they do opposite things, the above points should give you something like this:
At first listen it sounds just strange but is quite listenable after a few minutes.
Happy experimenting!
