Hello,
I'm new here and new to the world of headphones (well, with good quality sound).
At this point, I'm planning to beef up my PC for some (acceptable) quality sound.
Basically, I "listen" to Jazz and oldies and "play" some pops.
I do watch movies on my PC.
I already got an AV-710 for the PC output part.
What do I need more? DAC? Amp?
I do thinking of an amp since I want to switch to a CD/DVD player later on.
Will the amp I need be difference for PC and players?
Any suggestion on what should I get?
I too have a hardtime on choosing headphone too.
Should I get HD-580, 590, 595 or ATH-A700?
My buget is around $300~400.

There are a few Pimetas for sale in the "Amplification For Sale/Trade" forum, consider one of those perhaps. Did you follow the setup guides for the AV-710?

Get a good amp, and pair it up with either HD580/HD595, and that's assuming you like how sennheiser sounds. Or else you could go for the grados which are much easier to drive and sound good out of the box.

EDIT: Okay personally i'd go for a HD650/AKG K701 and use it with the AV-710, then later save some money and get a good amp in one shot.

Get a good amp and run it to 580's. Make sure you're using the Wolfson DAC on your Chaintech AV-710. You may want to consider getting 595's since they are superb all arounders.

I decide to get the HD-595 right now first.
But I don't know anything about amp, any suggestions?

I hear that X-can makes a decent amp, although I haven't had the opportunity to listen to it. However, the specs look pretty solid. It also depends on what you're looking for; something portable or a sit-at-home-and-enjoy kind of amp. Also, hello and welcome, I've just recently joined myself.

You need an external DAC, the analog out of the AV-710 is sub-sub par.
