I recently picked up a used Rega P1 + 2M Blue cartridge + glass platter for $190. I then busted out my Dads old record collection and hooked up my HD600. I am loving the richness and the breadth of the music that is coming out. Currently been listening to Frampton Comes Alive and I feel it I some engaging than the lossless version I have. There the occasional pop and click but I feel its a small price to pay for the performance. It will be hard for me to go back and listen to digital now which seem hollow and lifeless. Paired with my HD600 I am thoroughly entertained.

Yep. A high quality DAC will make those 0's and 1's much smoother and lifelike. But it's just like digital photography vs. film. Film will never die because of the resolution and detail that digital is still not able to match.

I just got a new pair of replacement pads from HeadRoom for my 600s and they are the same size/height as the originals. Was it you who said his new pair was too thin?

Congratulations on the Rega and on your renewed enjoyment of the HD600s. Sometimes it's not about what's new or the latest, but about rediscovering what always was exceptional.

My 600s are quite old. I got them used 4 years ago from an old dude from Florida and he said he had them in the closet for a couple years.
