someone's selling energy c-9's and a center channel (energy) together for $450; supposed to be excellent condition; this is local on craigslist



i don't want her center channel, just the speakers

what would be a good price? a great price?

when i go to look at used speakers and thoughts for inspection? i always take screens off and inspect the drivers for dents and cracks, but if there's anything else

right now my source is a pretty plain dvd player and amp is an onkyo stereo reciever; those might well be upgraded in the future

i'm thinking that if they're perfect, it would be a deal even at $400, but it would be something if i could manage at $300

Ooooh....the center channel speakers for the Connoisseur series is quite hard to come by.

If the C-9s are in excellent condition, $400.00 looks to be a good price.

thanks for the input; i'm definitely just going to do stereo, no sub, no center or surround; so if the center is valuable, hopefully i can get just the twin c-9's for $350 or less

funny, i just sold a laptop from craigslist a couple minutes ago to a couple fellows from poland

and hopefully this lady will call me back and i'll go spend it on these speakers

is the center the "c-c1"?

i got a hold of the seller and will go look at the speakers Wednesday; she said when i called that someone was going to buy all three, bu called me back to come see them, so i guess they droped out

any tips on inspection?

considering their asking $450 for all three, what would make sense for just the two c-9's? i'm thinking i can probably swing it for the mid $300's

hope they really are in excellent condition

my cdplayer is the JVC vx-m567 dvd player

reciever: onkyo tx-8011

am i in dire need of upgrading these? i really don't know if they are any good; i imagine they're basic and decent, is it enough power?

Your components will be fine....for now. I am sorry to tell you (and your wallet) that the C-9 deserve more investment from you for an amp and a source (or two).

oh yes, and they will get it; i'm researching vintage amps right now, and i may put a dac on that cdp
