Hi

I have just bought this card for my Logitech Z 5500 speakers. I like DTS and have a lot of DTS music on my HD. I have bougt the coax - 3.,5 jack plug. Eveything connected correct from soundcard to my control box from Logitech. I have enabled D/IO in windows XP sound properties. I can get sound in DTS in VLC, but it sounds weird like a horse running! What do i need to check in my software settings? Please guide me it is driving me crazy

I use analog outs, so can't help any better.

As far as sound card goes I believe you are all set now... Or maybe not? There is this flexi jack setting there - make sure it operates as digital out and not as a microphone input.

As for other software try a movie with DTS soundtrack in Power DVD perhaps? (select SPDIF under setting > audio)

Some people believe one thing and some people the opposite

Benefits of going digital are:

1. less cable clutter

2. no risk of analog interferences (good cables decrease this risk in analog anyway)

3. potentially better digital to analog conversion

(this is not the case with Z5500 - they are great but DACs are not any better then DACs on X-Fi)

I think you are fine with either. But as you bought the cable already you have to get it to work digitally I guess...

#1. Check you plugged the cable into the correct jacks on both ends...
#2. Set flexi jack to digital (X-Fi driver)
#3. In digital output option try different sampling rates. DVDs are normally samples at 48kHz but perhaps your files are different.
#4. Check if there are any digital input settings on the Logitech control pod. If there are ant make sure input settings match output settings...
#5 Select the Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream Out option in Audio Console
#6 Select SPDIF or External in the player audio settings

Running out of ideas ...

I have tried everything. I can get the DTS logo in the controller box, but the sound is very weird. Maybe the coax conection in the conroller is not working. The DTS logo is also flashing. I can live with it if i have no loss in using the analog connections.

I just picked up this card and speakers as well. I'm not seeing any of these settings in the audio console or anywhere else... I cant get any noise from card at all... I installed the audio console and drivers.. but none of that other junk
