When I look at pictures of this soundcard I see TWO cards. I tried looking through the 'search' to find some information but was overloaded.

Could someone explain this to me? I have a shuttle computer so I was just wondering. The only thing I found was "analog card" and "digital card". Does this mean exactly what it says? One card for analog i/o and one card for digital i/o?

BTW I'll need this for analog out.

Emu 1212m -> Marantz 1060 -> Sennheiser HD600

yap that is exactly it. The main card handles Optical, Midi, and Coax I/O. The 2nd card handles dual mono (not quite sure if that is what they're called) I/O.
Just run the dual mono to RCA for your marantz and you're ready to go.

Hm... 2 questions

1. Have you ever heard of anyone just selling the ONE card and keeping the other?

2. Using the "dual mono -> RCA" cable... should I buy a new one or is the one that comes with the 1212m of better quality than the 0404?

1) unfortunately the 1212m analog card does not work by itself (as far as I know). It is connected to the digital card via an internal cord and the analog card does not actively use a PCI slot. It just needs a slot to stay in place.

2) the 1212m does not come with any cords. Only the 0404 does have some. basically if you have an interconnect laying around you can just grab 2 1/4'' to RCA connectors from Radio Shack and be good to go. Otherwise there are tons of custom cables around with 1/4'' to rca connectors.
