You shouldn't turn the volume up or down with the computer. Set all the mixer settings to its default (zero). Bypass all the mixers if possible. Control your volume solely using your amp.

All of that is in the PatchMix DSP. Everything is set to zero already by default, I think

Okay...I restored the default settings. Everything is at zero.

Itunes is defaulted at zero, Patchmix is at zero, and my amp volume has no effect.

I have two monster cable 1/4 inch to RCA adapter. The RCA adapters go into my amp.

The only way the amp affects the volume of an Itunes file on the computer is if I turn Patchmix or Itunes to a volume other than zero.

What am I doing wrong?

The functionality of the analog inputs on your amp should in no way be affected by the volume settings or other settings on your computer (besides for turning the stuff off). The amp will obviously only affect what is coming out of it's output. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

With everything set to default are you still getting a reasonable output from the EMU?

I thought Kyrie was saying that, like the Ipod's line out, when I used the EMU card I wouldn't have to use Patchmix or the computer for volume control. I must have misunderstood.

From talking to EMU tech support today, I know now that I do have to use the volume control in Patchmix before I use the volume control on my amp (i.e. if Patchmix is set at zero, I'll get no AMP volume).

So I'm good to go...thanks for the help.
