Is there a difference between these two models. If so what is the difference. I see the EMU 1212M going for $200 but the EMU 1212 going for $170. Don't to buy the 1212 and find out that it isn't as good as the 1212M.

Thanks

When the 1212m initially was release the 1212 was also available. The M series is master grade ADC/DAC used in ProTools rigs. Without M its standard stuff, similar to the 0404.

For $30 get the M.

Personally I'd get the 1212 and spend that extra $30 on getting it modded. Unless $30 is pocket change that is...then just get the 1212M modded

There was an 1820 and 1820m but never a 1212. If you try and download drivers and select the product, you will see 1212 isnt an option.

Well when I do a froggle search I get cheaper price with EMU 1212. but I didn't want to order it and find out that I would be missing something.

Question..

What is the modding and who can do it?

There is NO such product as the 1212, only 1212m. Lots of places mis-label it, its the same thing.
