Let me give a little background as to what I'm trying to do here...

I want to hook up my EMU 0202 USB to a Numark 2-channel mixer. Using Virtual DJ (the beat-mixing program I am using) I can select a single sound card and select "mono-seperated" essentially using the L channel as channel 1 and the R channel as channel 2 (or vice-versa). I am using 2 1/4" R and L outputs on the back of the EMU, each split into an RCA, then they are connected to the inputs on the mixer.

However, I am only getting sound from the Left channel! So I tinkered with it for a bit and discovered this... No matter what output (L or R on the back of the EMU) I connect my headphones directly to, I always get sound from the left channel! (I only get sound out of the left ear phone, regardless if it's in the R output or L output). I have never used the 1/4" outputs in the past, so I've never noticed this problem before.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit on an ASUS laptop. If anyone has any idea what's up with this, that would be a great help!!!

So what if I use an unbalanced cable like this...

Hosa CPR202 Close-Up | Sweetwater.com

And then split each RCA with a Y-cable that has a single female end and RCA male ends, then connect that to the mixer. That would work, right?

Would there be any performance difference between doing that or splitting the 1/8" stereo out with 3 Y-cables? Probably not...

Maybe I should have just ordered a 2-channel audio interface...

edit: Does anyone know if an RCA termination will fit into the input on this cable? HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!
