Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

There is a huge difference. X has gobs of bass on most everything you listen to as well as more energy on the high end along with other differences. Let your Phantom burn in for at least 200 hours before making real comparisons. Just enjoy your music for now.. you will be happier I promise.

Hi mate I do like them as they are. I was just very curious :)

Feels like legend x is like hd800s to bright and to boomy. ( hd800s are not boomy)

So far very pleasant.

Is anyone able to share their opinions on whether the Phantom pairs better with the SP1000CU or SP1000SS or Hugo 2?

I am using a Leonidas cable and am looking for, of course, accurate timbre and tonality, good extensions on both ends, assuming that a large holographic sound stage is a given with the three.

I unfortunately am unable to test them in person due to unavailability and may have to make a blind purchase. Maybe @ctsooner22 can chime in?

Sp1000 cu is probably the super end game?
Dont know how leonidas sound.
But i think phantom has a warmer signature and a neutral or slightly bright dap dac or amp would be fine.
I know hugo 2 will probably sound the most thin they all be on same lvl just tonality will be affected.
Warmest sound maybe from sp1000cu?

The phantom pairs extremely well with the sp1000cu, the leonidas will give you more resolution, extension and will slightly reduce the warmth.
Also the EA Eros and the PWaudio Saladin pair very well with the phantom and both are able to add some clarity and extend the treble, but not as the leonidas.

Need to skip all that cables and goes straight for 1960s or 1950s, sound like heaven with phantom

Anyone here received their universal iem from ee and have this issues, look like they didn't do a good job of cleaning off the squeeze out from when they closed up the iem,

Thanks! Have you also tried the SP1000SS or the SP1000OB to compare?

I'm asking because I can't find any used SP1000CU but there are a number of used SP1000SS for decent prices. If the difference isn't significant, then I'm inclined to just get a used SP1000SS instead of a new SP1000CU.

I was told this line that ran the length of one side, plus the excess lacquer shown, was the result of the squeeze also. Not in the same spot, not a clear straight line like yours and nowhere as bad considering it was only one side as well.

I got them replaced and I imagine will too. Didn't even have to go without a pair of Phantoms throughout the return process due to some creative logistics ; )

Has anyone ever done a complete review of the ee esr? Looking to purchase one but there's not many reviews on it...Hoping it would be a nice complement to my ue18 and andros.

Yea in your case they apply a generous layer of lackering. It protects the iem better that way to

it should complement your ue18 with a more neutral sound, leaning bright with the wrong tips. u can also audition at euphoria or zepp
