Yeah the spartans are amazing for the price. Still dont know if i want the hermes or the spartans!

If you want a more reference sound go for the Spartans, more musical with a more forward mid and bass presence go with the Hermes (I've the Hermes and absolutely love them).

Am i the only one that thinks the hermes highs are bit recessed? But its very good still, they are well texture, detailed and up in your face type soundsignature.

I'm all for a more relaxed, musical listen and would recommend Hermes. I'd call the top end smooth rather than recessed, though.

Listening to my first balanced iem (that came with the Hifiman Supermini) and the difference is absolutely amazing (only even heard 1 balanced headphone for a few minutes at an audio meet). Dear goodness does anyone know some cables similar to the BTG Audio Starlight Cable that's balanced?

Pictures of my custom Spartan, for anyone interested. I'm sending them in tomorrow to get the fit tightened.

Here. Just pick the type of balanced connector you need.

I seen that when I was browsing (still appreciate that though) but I don't have an XLR output (only thing I seen balanced) and all the pictures of their different adaptors are all stereo. I need it to be balanced into a 3.5mm slot (like on the Hifiman Supermini)

I haven't tried it on the Athena, but from my first experience with Zeus - R, Kozato let me tried it with the PW Audio's 1960s cable (2-wire version) and the sound was astoundingly resolving with very holographic 3D imaging and balance in all 3 frequencies

You can read a bit of it on their website.

It's the 3.5 trrs option. About the sixth one down.

Aaahhh they just didn't picture it, I do believe I'll be sending mine in for that adaption. Appreciate it.

DAY 3

RMAF 2016 was easily one of the best shows i've attended and I can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks to Chord Electronics for letting us borrow the "DAVE" and thanks to Asius Technologies for providing such incredible support throughout the show. We'll be working vigorously to get the Olympus ADEL line finalized ASAP. Stay tuned my friends!
