btw , i am curious how much Zeus XR would scale up with a better source/cable than the one i i have now wm1a/E Eos (which sounds very good anyway)

Improving the source will improve the Zeus. How much and is it worth it for that how much is up to you. There are three or four TOTL's that cost in the $3k+ range and all are very good. They all sound a bit different so it also depends on what sound sig you are looking for. It's a rabbit hole, just as upgrading cables is a rabbit hole. If you are happy with what you have, keep it. If not, prepare to spend some real money. I would suggest waiting until there is a CanJam or similar near you (if you have no store you can visit) and try things out.

Just left CanJam London .. I tried Lx, Phantom, and bravado . LX is absolutely fantastic but it’s out of my budget for now, so I went for bravado which sounded really good with my Dx200. Had my impression done by Dean for free and Jack offered 10% off and free shipping. £478 for a custom bravado is affordable to me . Jack was very nice to me as well .

In my limited dealings with Jack, he's been a gentleman. Very nice guy, and definitely has a huge following here. This will be my 2nd EE product, I also have a Zeus. LX should be more towards my preferences, but I thoroughly enjoy the Zeus when I'm in a relaxed mood.

The LX is so popular almost everyone that came to the Empire stand wanted to have a demo . They had just a pair so we had to take turns . A guy next to me had his turn and is coming back tomorrow to listen again. I was like ; Dude really?..
I wanted to try the XR , but I had spent too much time on the LX and bravado so my ears were tired . Someone ordered right after first listen with the Hugo2 so they must be really good as well . I’m glad I went to CanJam . There’s nowhere in the Uk to try these .

Bravado is sweet. You get like 70% of the way there for 1/4 the price.
