Best delta sigma DAC I've heard so far. Pretty ironic, or amazing, considering that it's a full fledged home theater preamp/processor with 7 + 2 channels and all sorts of processing + room correction at "only" $2200.
 
I believe the DAC is 6bit R2R + rest with delta sigma(?)
 
Amazing sound quality with no faults.

Nope. My only experience with super upsamping DAC is the PS Audio Directstream, and that thing sounded horribly thin and flat and incorrect sounding...

I have the XMC-1 in my TV room and love it for HT and 2.1 listening. I think the great sound has more to do with DIRAC.
