Embedded Album Art

Hello,

I would like to ask if embedded album art inside .mp3 or .flac files has a filename.. For example if the image was art.jpg will it have the same name inside the song? (possible to browse a file somehow to see what's inside?) Also I know the Q sounds stupid, but besides raising the file size embedded tags/art don't mess with the quality right?

I believe it can have a name, I will see if I can double check but the albums I have converted to FLAC use the naming scheme "album title".jpg

Interesting, thank you for the reply. Don't know what made me wonder how it works but now im interested in finding everything out s:

MP3 (ID3), AAC (MP4) FLAC and Ogg don't store a filename for the embedded artwork, but they do store a "type" (front, back, etc). APEv2 (APE, WavPack, MPC) stores a filename but no type.

Ah, that makes sense, I checked and what I was recalling was that my software stores the art in the folder as well as in the tag, and the folder copy is of course named accordingly.
