Hi, Anyone know how the d22 Eggos compare to the Koss KSC-50s? I searched in the archives and there were few mentions of the d22s except they were referred to as all midrange, with minimal extension of the highs and lows. I am mainly looking for a closed portable phone and really like the Eggo design. Or do you think it would be better to skip the d22s and save up for the d66 instead? From reading around, the d66 are better than the KSC-35s. I was looking into the d22 but only if it does not offer inferior sound to the KSC-50s.

Not really. I think you must be getting feedback from The People Who Listen In Shops again

They have a perfectly good range, but there are problems. The treble is quite ragged and there's definitely a hint of 'enclosure' in the whole sound. The bass is odd. I can't fully put my finger to it but it's odd. There's enough of it...but it's odd. And don't ask me why because I can't tell.
This opinion is from the point of view of someone who's used to a lot better stuff so individual opinions may vary. But I find them perfectly OK to listen to for portable use.
If you CAN save up for the D66, I would say do so.

Some (Magic-bangra-thyse(?)) people deliberately listen in trains, to see if they really can hear the announcements...!

Deliberately listen?

I'll be sure to do that in the future!

Gahahahahaha! You must obviosuly spend a lot of time in Yodobashi...

Although I don't deliberately listen on public transport, that's probably less geeky than churning out headphone plots isn't it?
