Eddie current amp question

Does anyone know how the EC-01 compares to the HD25. i'm wondering if i should set out on a world wide hunt for the HD25 (after i recover from this month's purchases) or consider the EC-01, which is currently in production. Thanks.
edit: also, if anyone has compared it with the meier in my sig it would be wonderful to know your impressions on it.

I doubt many have heard both. I have an EC01 for testing at the moment, but have no idea how it compares with the HD25. From the descriptions I suspect they're quite different in signiture, etc.

I don't think many hd25 were sold. Maybe in part because of the board flexing problem some owners experienced. So they may be hard to come by used.

I have never heard it myself, but I have heard the EC1. Which seemed to represent reasonable value for the money. Esthetically the EC1 is not that stunning, but it is built like a tank, and has a very small foot print. It had plenty of juice to drive hard to power phones.

I am interested to hear the EC-01. I had an HD25 and wouldn't mind another if one showed up for sale. It is an excellent amp. I never had any problems with board flex with either my HD25 or HD300.

I think I may be the third owner of tyrion's HD25. I had it at the recent Chicago meet in hopes that the EC-01 would be there for comparison but none showed up. And unfortunately I won't be able to make the National meet so....

Yeah, and I am the first owner of that HD25. COME HOME TO ME BABY. I need it for my Eddie Current collection. OH YEAH, I could kick myself. However it was a nice trade-off...........(Im a Tyrion bottom feeder).............

Of course there were more but it's one of those things that only comes up once in a blue moon on the FS forums these days. Now if you were talking around last summer (which is when the HD25 stopped being produced IIRC) or earlier, then it would be more common.

Ask mikey01 to be sure. But I thought that only 5 or so HD25's were ever made. Most of that initial production run were HD300's.

unless Jude's sold his, i think i've tracked down four of them.... but isn't there more? this was suppose to be one great amp.
