Good deal. I think the GS1k is probably the only high(er) end headphone that depreciates so much.

I'm not sure it does. There's only been two phones offered up used remotely in this price range as far as I can remember. Yes, I have the other one.

I forgot if you got yours from Audiogon or eBay, but I do recall seeing a couple GS1000s on Audiogon in the $600-$700 range. I had no funds at the time

Somewhat off topic, are the HP2's also known as HP 1000, and how much do they go for?

Its actually the other way around.
Their model name are HP1000, and they were sold in three different versions. HP1, HP2 and HP3.

The HP2 sell for anything between $800 and $1500. Depending on configuration (JGSUWBRC, or not) and condition (intact lettering, or not).

Little off topic but i wanna thank the OP for posting this. I saw his post literally 1 minute after he posted it and decided to buy it only to find that I couldn't log into my eBay account. I haven't used my eBay for about a month and I rarely check the email account it is linked to, so I checked my email right away. There were bunch of emails from eBay notifying me of a password change, email change, bunch of 50" Samsung LCD postings and verification emails on credit card activities. It was pretty obvious my account has been compromised by someone. I contacted eBay right away and got everything sorted out, and cancelled my cc, etc. Didn't get the GS1000 obviously since by the time I got everything worked out, someone already bought it. Oh well, if I hadn't checked eBay yesterday, who knows how big of a mess i could be in right now.

A bit off topic again, but, what is the difference in sound quality between the HP-1's, HP-2's, and HP-3's? What about an HP-3 with HP-2 drivers? How much would each of these go for?

Not much difference if any (haven't heard the HP-3 *rare*)- go for the HP-2.

Were you talking about recstar24 HP-3's sale ? If so, it has the same specs as the HP-2 cause the original owner asked Joseph Grado to upgrade the drivers. They're pretty rare though, only 50 units were made but don't bother if they don't have 0.5 dB matched drivers from the HP1/2.
