I have dry earwax which doesn't clog, so dry flakes that fall out of my ears naturally or just gather in the stem, only to be tapped out whenever I remove my IEMs.

I know some people use diluted hydrogen peroxide to remove wet earwax from their ears, but otherwise, I guess it's just bad luck.

My ears don't produce enough earwax, so I order SonicWax, audiophile synthetic ear wax substitute, from an online high end audio dealer in Singapore. It's rated from 20Hz to 50kHz with distortion of less than .00001%!

Some people simply can't use IEMs for this reason. I'm very close to being one of those people. I have to do a deep ear clean about twice a year to remove a plug or wax. I'm also pretty neglectful about cleaning them normally. I do have an ear corkscrew thingy that actually works pretty well. But don't go too deep or you'll be in pain. Both my ear drums are perforated already...

Earwax seemed to reach a pinnacle of production while I was experiencing my lifetime in my mid-thirties. Interestingly production actually will decline for many. Possibly one of the greatest gifts that goes with aging, right next to sarcasm.

I'm super grateful that this isn't an issue for me. When I use hybrid iems I do notice the nozzles and tips end up wet vs my BA only sets, but I tend to clean my ears daily and the inside of my canals tend to dry and flake more than build up wax. I still go once a year to check with an audiologist to make sure I don't have buildup and I always get a clear and never have to have my ears cleaned by them.

Lol @ the above posts.

I don't use IEMs. However I can relate to a degree, my one ear has a tendency to get overly clogged with wax. Usually when it happens I use some over the counter stuff from CVS or something and that usually clears it up. However I must stress how much I hate the process. Lol. But it does work.
