Just got my S-em9 today. Listened for around 3 hours with the stock cable, to my IEM test playlist. Sounded mediocre, thin, and dry at best. After replacing the cable with my E.Audio Eros, the IEMs came alive. Mids sounded fuller, highs were crisp and clean, and bass extended way below the original threshold. Truly, this pair was brought to life by simply switching from one cable to another.

I want to try a couple of silver cables for the EM10 but I am going to listen for a few days I want to write my review based mostly from stock.

There is a clear lack of sparkle for the treble with the SPC cable. May need to go pure silver

Are you referring to the EM 10 or S-EM9?

The sem-9. My comparison is to the CA Jupiter and Andromeda. SEM-9 does everything better, except the treble sparkle

Any information on whether there will be more customization options for the EM-10? Not a fan of the gold lettering. Prefer the styling of the SEM-9.

There will be no customization.
The gold lettering is very discrete.

Nice review and nice read, serendipity as I am about to pull the trigger on them, looks like it will be my first custom IEM unless SE5U... though choice but the fun factor of the EM10 is probably going to win

Thank you David I am glad you enjoyed it. I also think the SE5U would be a great option from all I have read, but there are quite a few hoops to jump through to get them, not the least of wiring money, wiring fees, photos of ear impressions...it is alot but I am sure the payoff is there. I hope you enjoy the EM10

Sorry for the late response...I have just started to swap cables. I have done short listens and really need to give the Ares II a long session. The one cable that really was noticeable on short listens was the Dita Truth copper. It slightly widened the stage and created a more distinct stage.

Hey guys, I'm looking for an upgrade cable for the S-EM9 2pin. As I can only find Effect Audio cables in Europe (I don't want to order from outside Europe due to custom fees), what would you recommend between Effect Audio Ares II, Eros II and Lionheart (comfort and sound wise)?
