Hi.
I'm kinda curious about flathead earbuds but I'm strongly prefer planar headphones and IEMs.
Are there any planar flathead earbuds?
So far I can't find them.

There are some DIYers attempting planar earbuds, but I don't think there are any sold by mainstream brands for now.
Planar drivers are by themselves usually on the larger diameter, so it may be an issue fitting this into a earbud profile. And earbuds are extremely finicky for fitting purposes, so moving the earbud slightly may skew the sound amongst different ear anatomy, more so for a big planar earbud.

I came across 2 blue pet 300ohm buds on AE with different shells. Anyone here tried them and could give some opinion on how they sound or differ (if you tried them both). Interested to know how the shell type affects the sound outputs when using same drivers.
LCP
Titanium
Wool
PET Blue
Carbon something
Generic heavy bass
My rough takeaway was:
- Wool are too focused on highs for me
- Titanium second on that, but very good airy stage?
- LCP and PET are close on everything but bass is way softer of blue PET
- Carbon and Heavy bass I remember actually be shorter on highs, but I don't listen them after finding that out, also they were more quiet maybe because of general sensitivity...
After all fit of these shells over the ear for me is by far greater than anything else, I wish there was a premium material version of it
I know a few people who have attempted planar buds but AFAIK nobody's developing one at the moment. Consensus seems to be that it's impossible to get bass out of them rather than the size of the driver being an issue.

Since the RW-4000 was recently mentioned, I thought it would be good to provide some more context. Given the higher price tag, people tend to expect perfection tuning-wise, which is not the case. The RW-4000 has colored mids. Also, add the typical earbuds limitations to the equation as well -- e.g.: subs and high treble.
While having a casual session tonight, I think I found a good sample track that is easy to demonstrate the coloration introduced in the mids. Listen to the first 15s of this song:
The coloration is in the acoustic and electric (crunched) guitars. Colored mids, yes, but still balanced, and better yet, enjoyable. It all boils down to the genres ones listen, I think. I tend to listen midrange predominant songs (e.g.: 70s to 90s), and honestly, I can't complain on the presentation delivered by the 4Ks.
To conclude, this Yincrow made me eat my own words after all...
SO I received the Faaeal Rosemary my first impressions are that I think they're a good candidate for budget champs with balanced tuning, but they do require foams to sound good which I kinda hate lol.
They got way better bass than the monk+ while still being decently balanced mids and treble wise (again only with foams, the monk sound decent without them)
These miiight be the closest you can get earbud wise to an hd650, at least in the budget range, much much better than the snow lotus 2.0 (still yet to receive the iris)
The EP05 are still comfier (smaller and they sound their best without foams), they have better soundstage, detail and imaging but they're a biit too bright for certain genres(still not too bad) I love these but idk if they're still on sale anywhere (also apparently a qc lottery)
And vs the FF3 those still have waay more impressive bass but the mids are really uneven and some vocalists just sound like a kitchen radio surrounded by subwoofers so I'd actually say the Rosemary are better, also the FF3 require foams to sound their best too (the bass ones), so yeah these are debatable until you realize that one is 10 times more expensive.
Other earbuds I have qian39, kbear stellar, yincrow x6, snow lotus, all of these are mostly hot garbage lol, I know x6 is supposed to be decent but my unit has the nastiest lower treble so yeah idk not recommended.
Also final note but the Rosemary are preeetty hard to drive, usb-c apple dongle on an android phone just doesn't cut it for example, my phone still has a 3.5 and more power but yeah all the other earbuds I got run well of the dongle, yet to try them on a ps5 controller but it might struggle too... Obviously any desktop amp wont struggle tho, amazing on something like a liquid spark.
Sorry for the newbie questions, but can someone tell me if the Yinman 600 2.0 is using the same shell as the Dunu Alpha 3? Or are they using different shells so that will have a different fit?
