Currently, i'm running some HD600s stock cable through an AudioAlchemy HPA1.0, i'm still waiting on Cardas cables, and i'm sure I could benefit from a higher priced amp, but don't have the money. I love em for music, but the open design isn't working for late night gaming when I don't want explosions rocking my roommate.

So i'm looking for some cheap closed headphones, that I won't be using for music, at least not regularly. I'm looking to spend less than $75 here, less than $50 if at all possible.

Also, it was my sister's 18th birthday last month, and being a college student, I didn't get her anything much (wrote a poem on a card).

She has an iMac so she uses it as her portable music player. I'd like to buy her an iPod but don't have that kind of money. She hates headphones, makes her feel claustrophobic. So i'm looking for a set of earbuds to buy for her. I was actually at one point considering saving for Etys but I don't think she'll enjoy the insertion.

I'm looking to spend up to say 75-100 bucks for em. But really anything is better than the cheap Sonys she's using now (came with my Discman... 3 years ago).

Thanks in advance.

To be honest the Sennheiser MX-500 earbud kicks ass for what you pay. Its only $15 - phenomenal value for money. I tried a lot of stuff when I was looking to upgrade from those Mx-500's and I didn't find anything that was remotely worth the money until I got a pair of Ety Er-6's (used, not new). To me that says a lot about the sennheisers.

I think its especially so if you're pairing with the Ipod - you want something bass-intensive to counterbalance the brightness. The ER-6 and the E-888 may fall short there - and that 's a lot of money wasted if that's the case.
