I recently bought some sony POS headphones, but the cord is too short to reach from my pocket to my ears without falling out or trying to whenever I move my head (and im only 5'10''). So im done with those...and am now trying to make a good decision with my next purchase (instead of throwing away 12 bucks like before).
I'm looking for Earbuds/Canal earphones for under or around 30 USD (under is better) to be used mostly with an iPod. My only other requirement is that they are not too isolating (some isolation is okay) because I live in a city setting and like to use my iPod on my bike, and would rather not be snuck up on by any cars.
Any suggestions help.

If you are riding a bike in a city you may be better considering a set of open portable heaphones like the PX100. To me ANY amount of isolation is too much if you are riding bike, it's just not worth the risk.

The new Creative canal phones should meet your criteria ... or the Koss PortaPro portable headphones ... I have both, and like them -- good value for the money. But I'm not sure about recommending them, particularly canal phones (the Koss would be distracting enough), for bicycle riding in urban traffic.

Try searching for Koss KSC75 threads. Priced under $20 but sounds better than anything in its price bracket. They're clip-on's and open so they should work well for bicycling in the city.

KSC75s would probably be the best option. No isolation to speak of, so you can hear the noises of the outside world, helpful on a bike. And they can be used even if you use a bike helmet.
