ear bud mods??

Hey!

Just wondering if you'd heard about any earphone/bud mods out there? I currently have a pair of mx400/500 and I'd like to convert them into a pair of sealed buds?? Any recommendations?

I wanna try applying blu tack to the top vent to seal them. Whaddaya think?

Put blue tak all over the outside, then wrap duct tape around your head (horizontally). They'll be sealed and secure.

You could try a search... but I would think that they're not closed for a reason. Even my EX-71 in-ear thingies aren't fully enclosed.

Yeah I know, it's just that I do audio engineering so detail is just one of my must haves. Trying to save up for the HD 280pro and I own a px200 now.

Plus I take public transport all the time, so sometimes I need sound to be blocked out or i'll be like maxing the volume on my portable player and damaging me ears.

I did read about the blu tack mod for some other ear buds. Some people even carefully super glue the vents. i just wanna know if anyone else had done it??

Yeah, i'm not being very useful am I...

280 pro will give you detail all right... just burn the suckers in for a month then they'll be great. The bass came out a couple of months after I bought mine, i'm pretty impressed for the price.

Well i don't think this would work with the mx400 but Chu Moy did a mod of the Koss Plug. Prehaps it might give you some ideas or inspire you. You can find the mod at Headwize
