Hello to everyone...
Thanks for helping me (through searching)for a long time now. This is my first post.I am by NO means an expert-just a musician.
I use headphones-earphones a LOT! I own several different pairs including (sorted by price) JVC Marshmallows
Some Sony Earbuds
Sennheiser CX300 II
Roland RH-50
apple in-ear
Some AKG open-type headphones
AKG 271
Shure E5c
Shure E530 (not any more...)
If i had the option i would use my speakers for mixing. When i am on the go (often)i prefer the AKG 271 headphones. But i also...
LISTEN TO MUSIC! rock mostly, some pop,rnb ,whatever... using my iphone,or my macbook...AND
-This CANNOT be happening! The CX300II are the most pleasing to my ears. The Shure E5's have an extremely detailed mid-range,but I would only use them as IEMonitors on stage.I find they have no musical quality, lack proper bass definition and high-end.Apple in-earphones sound way too "muddy" to me.
DO I belong in a mental institution? With CX300 I get light earphones, which are way more comfortable than any sleeve/tip i could put on the E5's with more bass ,and overall better sound through my iphone.
I gave my CX300 to my girlfriend as a gift. Please convince me i don't need to buy another set of earphones.(The CX300 for the 2nd time)

also:I read on another thread that E5's high impedance+iphone(unable to drive the E5 properly) results in some kind of high pass filter, the signal is distorted and EQ won't help.So would any headphone amp be a workaround?
Sorry for the long post...
