Just purchased a new set of Beyerdynamic DT-880 600 ohms and up until this point I havent had a need for a high impedance amp. Ive been getting by on the E17

After a little bit of research I have seen that adding the E09K to my setup would solve my problem and give me enough power for the Beyers but I am very interested in the Schiit stack too. Will I noticed a major difference between the E09K//E17 combo vs the Schiit Magni//Modi combo?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't have the E9k, just the vanilla E9, but the Magni by itself is much better than the E9, IMHO.

do you use a DAC with the magni?

ok dumb question i just saw your signature.

would i get by with a UCA202 as my DAC for a magni? I already have one for my cheap desktop setup and not sure if it would be worth upgrading at this time

I have no idea what a UCA202 is - is it a sound card?  I'd just go for the Schiit Stack - some people who've owned the MSii (not +) prefer the Modi, which makes me think it'll easily do until you want to upgrade.  I can't believe the quality I'm hearing in the Magni....I wasn't expecting much after the O2 debacle - I just suspected that I needed more money for an amp that would drive my HE-500.  I was pleasantly surprised.
