I considering to buy an E-MU. I've found two versions of this card, the first with firewire, and second non firewire version. Is there any other difference between them, since i dont think I'm going to use the firewire port.

Are you talking about the daughter card?
EDI slot is not firewire..This is used for a Cat 5 cable
Maybe we are talking about 2 different things

No difference. There are two revisions of the 1212M; the second revision consolidated some parts and made the card RoHS-compliant. The 1212M v2 also has an EDI output in place of the Firewire input, which is a good thing, as it allows you to buy the MicroDock M, making the setup equivalent to a 1616M (plus the extra 0202 daughter card from the 1212M).
