Does anyone compress their movie sound?
For example, to tackle this problem:-
00dB: noise floor
10dB: plot-crucial dialogue
20dB: background music
30dB: general dialogue
35dB: start wondering if neighbours will hear
40dB: action music
45dB: neighbours definitely hear
50dB: general sound effects
55dB: neighbours strike architecture with object
60dB: special sound effects, screams, etc.
70dB: advertisements, trailers, etc.
To avoid having to watch a movie with one thumb on the remote control volume buttons, I'm contemplating compression (yuk!). Suggestions?
