I recently bought a pair of early serial number K701's  from a member here. I really like them. However the pads are kind of faded, still comfy but sunwashed and that made them look kind of "frumpy".

Being a full time student and on a serious budget I didn't really want to buy new pads at $22 each. Especially since they are still functional.

So I looked through the archives and didn't find any reference to dyeing AKG K701 pads. I decided to take a chance and picked up some RIT dye. Here's the results......

Just followed the directions on the box. 20 minutes in the solution, 20 minutes to wash excess dye out, then set on the radiator overnight to dry.

Oh, and don't forget to wear rubber gloves!
