You would think there would be some free or open source program to convert dxf->gerber, but the only thing close that I could find is a program called LinkCAD, which has a 5 day trial period. I need gerber files so I can make a stencil (Stencils Unlimited), and I can only get .dxf files from ExpressPCB. Stencils charges $50 to convert dxf to gerber, but hey, I'd like to save $50, and also be able to do this again from time to time. Anyway, is anyone aware of a program that can help me? Maybe I need to write my own converter!
