Been a while since I tried to use EAC but it wasn't very user-friendly. Also it does not appear that MP3Tag supports WAV files. I guess I just really need to know if the DX90 will be able to read an external ID3 file. Probably not, sounds like I should just delete them, thanks.

Actually my Jet Audio ripper can imbed tags into the WAV files somehow which can be read by the DX90. EAC may have become easier to use the last couple years, it is most useful when ripping scratched CDs but all mine are prime. The proof is that my Vista machine never had a bad rip, probably because it had an onboard optical drive.

Guess what i did today.
Tried all the firmwares again.

I still think 2.0.5 was special. That magic never came along again. Its so smooth and fluid.

But the mids and highs were strange.
2.1.0 sorten them. Added some base perfected the layering

Till 2.1.0 the separation and soundstage the layering was sweet. Never again was it delivered after 2.1.0

2.1.5 changed it to a ipod like device that too a rip off
2.1.8 made it bass heavy ipod
2.2.0 made things better again like 2.1.0 but it lost that magic after 2.1.0

2.3.0. Hopeless for me. Dint like a bit. This time a sansa clip rip off.

Mind my language but thats what i felt.

Could nenver critisize 2.0.5 and 2.1.0 only wanted more.

Try the 2.0.5 again for ones

I think I should sleep now !!

@bharat2580 : at the moment I am also retrying some old FW with my W40

During the last two months I was using the latest (2.3.0), but today I loaded the 2.2.0

I notice the 2.2.0 was more balanced, but less "emotional", especially on the mids

I should retry also the 2.1.0, but from memory I found it too flat for my tastes.

What, you've tried all these fw's in one day?
Quite a job => you deserved some rest after that!

You are right. 404 error for me too. Contact them - they just changed their site and it may be a dumb error.
