Say what? I can muster that if I keep backlight turned off and shuffle on. If I mess with it to change tracks (turning backlight on), I also get around 4-5 hours. Stock battery, FLAC, low gain, ~140-170 volume, gapless on, slow roll off.

I never get much over 5 hours even in best case. This with the Japan cell Samsung or the stock Pisen or Mugen 2500 mah

I get about 5-6 hours with a 3250 mah battery, kinps or something.
Got about the same on the pisen battery and Samsung battery.
So guessing the capacity of the Kinps is exaggerated, but cant expect too much from a cheap battery.

What size battery is that?  Does the case hold the battery in place pretty good?  I've noticed the leather case is extremely snug everywhere BUT the back, so I'm curious.

It's only 3000 mah and 3.5mm thicker than normal 2100 mah, so it snugly fit Dignis case but without back cover.
You can see that it leaves a gap between case and player because of battery protrusion.

I agree for a rock/metal genre, Pantera's music has a wide dynamic range. Which you can easily pickup changes with difference in equipment. Same goes with Metallica, Megadeth, Guns N Roses, Ugly Kid Joe, Aerosmith and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

All this battery talk made me order one as well.

It's the made in Korea one I saw for ~$10 on amazon, so I said I might as well. I tried testing it vs. The Pisen and it wasn't easy for me to tell a difference, but I feel the Samsung battery makes everything sound slightly cleaner and more refined (not night and day). The real reason I got it was more for backup battery and the fact that I will have a more quality battery on day to day usage.

I think mine battery can't fit into Dignis, it's about 1.1cm to 1.2cm thick!!

For your info:
Battery life of Samsung 3000 mah after fully charged is about 7+ hours. 4 hours on 16-44.1 with 2 hours running on OTG card reader and 3+hours on 24-192 with OTG taken out, vol. at 185-192, low gain.

Normally running none stop, I get 7 hrs out of 16-44.1, with OTG plug in it reduce to 5+ to 6 with 24-192 it reduces to 4+ to 5 hrs. At normal daily usage it's more than enough for me.
