I got two of the 3250 batteries that Ron, HiFlight recommended. They do last longer. Great battery. I have mine broken in now, a few charges, discharges and have been on battery for about 2 hours and still full bars. Seems to last around 2 hours longer.

I also note as others have, that the front button response is instant. I have no problems with any of my songs playing or the DX90 loading them in WAV, hires FLAC, or ALAC. I have also tried the little DSD I have and it works fine, sampling to 24/88khz.

I did not have to do as per pauldgroot's suggestion here: things were easier:). When I connected the DX90, having installed the driver on my laptop, Windows installed the DAC as an iBasso Mango HiFi Audio Device. I see it listed under Control Panel/Sound/Manage Audio/Devices/

I'm happily listening to Christy Baron's album "I Thought About You" via Foobar networked to a USB drive hanging off a Wandboard on my network.

The instructions he gave you were for cases where you already had a sound system connected to your computer. If you don't it automatically maps to the new driver based device, hence why you did not need to do anything but his instructions are more generic and will always work no matter what you have connected.

Hmmm.... interesting....

I just checked for the same battery on ebay.co.uk, and it's there, too, but there's also the same brand but with a gold label. Presumably they're identical, but it's weird that the same brand is using 2 different labels for what appears to be the same battery:

Either way, it's so nice that one can freely buy spare batteries for the DX50/90. I wish other DAP-makers would more seriously consider quick-swappable batteries, for convenience and lighter-weight DAPs.

It's a lot cheaper from that source...I ordered 2!  The Great and Powerful Online Repository of all things Discounted and Retail lists one that is similar for almost $34.

They charge almost 10$ usps shipping which is truly inflated, it costs at most 4$ shipping 2 tiny batteries. I shipped old iPod video for that price.

.

That's one of the nicest features but the battery size is a dog, wish they designed it to take larger size batteries to make it truly flexible. Oh well.

The gold one is 3.7 volts, the other is 4.35. I wonder is the dx90 will benefit from the extra voltage?

Yeah, but it's not easy to find a larger battery that is so readily-available all over the planet. I kind of agree with you, but I also understand why they chose the S3 battery.

At least it can be swapped in just a few seconds, with, I guess, a minute or so to reboot.

Ermm.... interesting observation, my friend!

I rather suspect that must be an error on the label. Most lithium cells are inherently 3.7volts, or multiples thereof.
