I just received new DX260 today and it is lacking in the Bass department. This if my first DAP and plunge into the audiophile world and bought some Monarch MKIII as well but it’s lacking bass. Any recommendations on DAPs for bass?
I don't find DX260 lacking in bass. You might wanna look into the seal of your iems by changing out tips or other more bassy iems.

I find it mind-blowingly transparent to the recording and reference sounding (equivalent to uncoloured studio near-field monitors or really TOTL reference IEM's in end sound reproduction).
Bass and sub-bass can hit very deep and with visceral rumble when it's in the recording; without bleeding into the rest of the spectrum.

Buy empire ears triton.
Or better yet, kiwi ears punch, it has excellent mids and highs at the same time with tasteful bass.

DX260 actually has good bass quality and quantity, but you need to understand it is a relatively neutral and highly detail DAP, i.e. it won't boost the bass frequency response by itself. So, if you want to hear more bass, your downstream components need to have this "colour", i.e. it could be you amp or your IEM/headphone, or even adding more bass via EQ.

FYI, when I using DX260 with XDuoo XD05 Pro, it bass is so strong and punchy (especially with opamp like Sparkos). There are a lot of bass with bassy IEM such as Duce, Legend X ... or even Shock. :)

Download wavelet from the Android store then Import the EQ attach also you may need to burn in the dap for a few days

Thank you EVERYONE for your tips on this. I have been letting it run over night abs this morning using the 4.4 Jack that came with the dx260 that has a receiver at the end, I think that’s what it’s for so letting it do it’s thing. Will be buying the tips mentioned above as well as Dunu s&s? Or just 1 set of tips will do? Again thank you EVERYONE, first time Dapper here, apologies in advance.

The more types of tips the better.

Get a variety of shapes and sizes, small changes can make a big difference, especially to effective seal which can make a massive difference to the bass.

There is no way to give you a starting point beyond that, what works for somebody else might not work for you in terms of shape and size.

Since you are starting you really just have to bite the bullet, buy a selection of ones that are different shapes, get different sizes of each and try them.

You will quickly figure out what works best to give effective seal and best comfort and you can fine tune from there if needed.

I would suggest as a starting point:

KB Ear 07

Divinus Velvet

Final Type E

Azla Crystal

That would give a few shape variations and material type differences also - it is critically important to get a variety of sizes of each type because just a small change can be very important for seal.

You should be able to get them from https://hifigo.com/collections/eartips

There are a bunch of different types there, you might like the look or cost of others.

Experimentation to find what works best for you is the only way, take my suggestions as a guide only and don't pay any attention to somebody that tells you Tip A is the best, the best is what works best for you not somebody else, your ear anatomy is unique to you.

Comfort and good seal are critical and small changes in shape, diameter and material can make a big difference to that.

Good luck.

Agree on tip selection, wavelet and burn in. Try using high gain as well. I am so impressed by the Dx260 I will not be buying a Dx340 for awhile. I rooted and optimized a DX180 for someone on here. When I got it found it lacked bass and punch. Rooted and optimized it and sounded much better. My Dx260 is rooted and optimized as well.

Have you produced a root and optimised guide for the 260? And what sound benefits have you found vs stock software

I have yet to write one. Besides being sick I have had a lot going on. You can use the Dx320 guide for now as both have same Android version. There are some more modules that I have disabled without issues that I will add to the guides. Detail bit better along with more punch. Better battery life of course. It's important to find the right iem to pair with a Dap. Both Maven II and Mest Mkiii go well with dx180 and Dx260. I rarely use the Dx180 because detail is better on the DX260.
